§ 13-51. Penalties.

  • If an excavation permit is not obtained prior to any work being done, then the permit fee shall be doubled. If a permit is not obtained, then the job shall be shut down and all work halted until a permit is obtained. The town shall give the permit holder notice of any deficiency found in the work, or damage caused by the work, and if the work is not corrected or damage repaired within the time demanded by the town, the town shall be entitled to draw on the insurance of the permit holder, or the town shall be entitled to pursue any other legal remedy available to the town, and the town shall be entitled to collect all amounts required to correct the deficiencies, including all costs of any collection action, including reasonable attorney's fees.
